There is never enough covered space: a major order comes in, stock grows, new loading or storage areas are needed. Building a masonry warehouse takes a long time and involves complex permits. PVC mobile tunnels are the fastest and most flexible answer: they are installed quickly, can be extended or relocated, and protect goods and vehicles from the weather. But which tunnel should you choose?

What is a PVC mobile tunnel?

It is a steel structure, usually made of bolted galvanised tubes, covered with a high-strength PVC membrane. It can lean against an existing building or stand on its own. It is used to:

  • create covered loading and unloading areas;
  • extend the warehouse without building;
  • protect vehicles, machinery and raw materials;
  • connect two buildings with a covered walkway.

AutoGO: the freestanding tunnel

The AutoGO freestanding tunnel is self-supporting thanks to a sturdy structure anchored to the ground with reinforced concrete footings, with no support from existing buildings. It is the right choice when you need an independent shelter in the middle of the yard.

SideGO: the lean-to tunnel

The side tunnel is placed alongside the existing building. It is available in two versions:

  • SideGO single-pitch, with a single-slope roof, placed beside the main building;
  • SideGO dual-pitch, with a double-slope roof, attached to the existing building or between two buildings.

FrontGO: the front tunnel

The FrontGO front tunnel is attached to the building façade, in front of the doors: an excellent way to expand the loading area and protect the bays from rain.

ModulGO: the modular tunnel with 5-metre bays

The ModulGO modular tunnel has a robust steel structure with a high-strength PVC cover and spacing between trusses of up to 5 metres: more clear space between trusses means more usable volume for goods and manoeuvres.

CapGO: the rigid-panel building

When you need a structure closer to a conventional building, the CapGO building has a steel frame capable of supporting rigid roof panels.

How to choose in four steps

Question If the answer is… Solution
Must the tunnel stand on its own? Yes, no building nearby AutoGO
Will it go alongside the building? Yes, along one side SideGO single- or dual-pitch
Will it go in front of the doors? Yes, on the loading façade FrontGO
Do you need large clear spans? Yes, plenty of internal volume ModulGO

How do you close the tunnel?

A tunnel often needs closing at the gable ends. Depending on traffic, you can choose a stacking high-speed door such as VertiGO, which stands up well to wind, or a cost-effective non-motorised solution such as the PolyGO sliding curtain, designed to close large external openings with few passages.

Permits and design

Every installation must be assessed on the basis of the location, local snow and wind loads and municipal planning rules. Our technical department will support you in defining the project; that is why the recommended first step is a free site survey.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a freestanding and a lean-to tunnel?

The freestanding tunnel (AutoGO) stands on its own thanks to reinforced concrete footings; the side tunnel (SideGO) leans against or sits alongside an existing building.

Can PVC tunnels be moved?

They are bolted structures, so they are more flexible than a traditional building: in many cases they can be extended, modified or reassembled in another position.

Do you need permits to install a mobile tunnel?

It depends on the local authority and the type of structure. During the design stage we help you understand which documents your installation requires.

Can the tunnel be closed with a high-speed door?

Yes, the gable ends can be closed with stacking high-speed doors such as VertiGO or with non-motorised sliding curtains such as PolyGO.
