High-speed doors for the food industry, to prevent the build-up of dirt.

The self-repairing high-speed doors are becoming increasingly popular in a wide range of industrial environments, including the food sector. These PVC high-speed doors are designed to allow fast, easy access between different areas of a company, minimising waiting times and improving operational efficiency. In addition, self-repairing high-speed doors can automatically repair themselves in the event of impacts or collisions, reducing the risk of damage to surrounding structures and to the operators who use them.

In this article, we will explore a case study in which a food manufacturer chose GLG to install a series of self-repairing high-speed doors to improve its logistics by reducing waiting times during the various stages of product handling.

The company in question is a major food manufacturer whose operational headquarters are located in the Milano Nord industrial area. The company produces a wide range of products and is committed to supplying high-quality goods to its customers, while maintaining high food safety standards. Before installing the self-repairing high-speed doors, the company used traditional doors that took a long time to open and close, making it difficult to transfer food between the different production areas of the factory. In addition, the traditional doors were prone to damage from accidental impacts by forklifts and pallet trucks, which required costly repairs.

The company therefore decided to install a series of self-repairing high-speed doors in several departments. These industrial closures were designed and built by GLG’s R&D department in compliance with the hygiene and health regulations that Ptfisher had to meet. For this reason, we designed a version of the self-repairing door that is easy to dismantle to allow easy in-house maintenance and the quick removal of dirt accumulated at the end of each work cycle. The self-repairing high-speed doors were then installed in various areas of the factory, including the loading and unloading area, the storage area and the production area. The industrial doors were also equipped with safety sensors to prevent collisions with transport vehicles and with automatic closing systems to ensure staff safety.

After installing the self-repairing high-speed doors, the company noticed a significant improvement in its operational efficiency. The doors opened and closed very quickly, minimising waiting times for the transfer of food products between the different departments. Moreover, thanks to the ability of the high-speed doors to repair themselves automatically in the event of collisions, the company noticed a significant reduction in maintenance and repair costs. In addition, the self-repairing industrial closures helped to improve safety in all production, procurement and storage areas. Thanks to the safety sensors and the automatic closingsystems, Ptfisher has strengthened its safety systems to further prevent the risk of collisions and accidents in the workplace.

In conclusion, the installation of ZipGo Food self-repairing high-speed doors has brought significant benefits to the food company in terms of operational efficiency, compliance with hygiene and health regulations, reduced maintenance costs and improved workplace safety. This case study shows how self-repairing high-speed doors can be used effectively in a wide range of industrial environments, including the food sector.
