Self-repairing high-speed doors that comply with ATEX regulations
L’chemical industry is a sector that requires particular attention to safety, as the materials and processes involved can be highly hazardous. For this reason, the construction of a high-speed door for an ATEX environment can be a useful solution for ensuring maximum safety in this type of environment.
The case study we will analyse concerns the construction of a ZipGO Atex self-repairing high-speed door for a chemical company. Specifically, the door was installed in an area classified as at risk of explosion, where there is a concentration of flammable dusts and liquids.
The project was entrusted to our R&D department, which specialises in the construction of special high-speed doors for extreme industrial environments, and which developed a solution tailored to the customer’s needs. The ATEX high-speed door was designed and built in compliance with the ATEX directive, which lays down the rules for the prevention of and protection against explosions.
The high-speed door in question was made from high-quality materials capable of withstanding the extreme conditions of the chemical environment. In particular, the frame is made of stainless steel, while the curtain is made of anti-static PVC, which prevents the build-up of electrostatic charges that could cause explosions.
In addition, the high-speed door was equipped with numerous safety systems, such as motion and presence sensors, which immediately stop the operation of the industrial closure if any anomaly is detected. Furthermore, the industrial door was equipped with a centralised control system that allows real-time monitoring of the operation of the ATEX industrial door and prompt intervention should any problems arise.
The construction of this high-speed door for an ATEX environment has enabled the chemical company to significantly improve workplace safety. The industrial door in fact helps prevent the risk of explosions by minimising the possibility of flammable dusts coming into contact with ignition sources.
In addition, the high-speed door has made it possible to increase production efficiency by reducing the opening and closing times of access to the hazardous area. Thanks to the state-of-the-art technology used in building the door, it was possible to obtain a high-performance product capable of guaranteeing maximum safety in the workplace.
Logistical considerations
In conclusion, the construction of a high-speed door for an ATEX environment is an effective solution for improving safety and production efficiency in industrial environments at risk of explosion. The use of high-quality materials and advanced safety systems ensures maximum protection for workers and the environment, minimising the risk of potential deflagrations.
