Installation of a High-Speed Door at the CTO in Turin for the Emergency Department
In the hospital sector, efficiency and safety are two fundamental pillars for ensuring a high-quality service. With this in mind, the CTO in Turin recently adopted an innovative solution to optimise workflow in the critical areas of its emergency department: the installation of a fold-up high-speed door. This intervention was specifically designed to improve passage through the warm rooms, a crucial area for emergency management.
Why a High-Speed Door?
Fold-up high-speed doors are an ideal solution for hospital environments, where speed and reliability are essential. In the case of the CTO in Turin, the main objective was to guarantee easy and fast access for emergency vehicles, reducing door opening and closing times while maintaining a high level of thermal insulation.
Warm rooms are essential spaces in emergency departments: they allow patients in critical condition to be transferred to and from ambulances while maintaining a stable temperature and preventing temperature swings that could worsen their condition. Choosing a high-speed door made it possible to solve several key issues. In terms of timing, the door’s fast opening and closing speed significantly reduced waiting times for emergency vehicles. In terms of thermal insulation, the door provides an excellent barrier against heat loss, keeping the internal temperature of the warm rooms constant. Furthermore, thanks to its robustness and ease of maintenance, the door perfectly meets the needs of an intensive operating environment such as a hospital.
Technical Features of the Installed Door
The high-speed door installed at the CTO is an advanced vertical fold-up model, designed to withstand frequent and intensive use. Its main features include a high opening speed, which allows quick access and eliminates potential bottlenecks. High-quality materials, such as the curtain made of fire-retardant, chemical-resistant material, ensure safety and durability. The integrated safety system, with advanced sensors, prevents accidental closing in the presence of obstacles, ensuring maximum protection for staff and patients. Finally, ease of maintenance, made possible by the modular design, simplifies routine and extraordinary servicing, minimising downtime.
Benefits Achieved
The installation of the fold-up high-speed door has already produced tangible results for the CTO in Turin. Reduced operating times have allowed emergency vehicles to enter and leave the area much more quickly, improving emergency management. In addition, maintaining a stable temperature in the warm rooms has helped improve the comfort and safety of patients in critical condition. The reduction in heat loss has led to considerable energy savings. Finally, doctors and healthcare workers can count on a reliable system that simplifies their daily work.
Conclusion
The adoption of a fold-up high-speed door at the CTO in Turin is a concrete example of how technological innovation can improve operational processes in a hospital setting. This solution has not only optimised the flow of emergencies but has also helped create a safer and more comfortable environment for patients and healthcare staff. A case study that shows how small, targeted interventions can make a big difference in the management of modern healthcare facilities.
