A cost-effective yet efficient solution

In this case study, we will examine theinstallation of a high-speed folding door in a pallet storage area where the opening was larger than the door’s standard dimensions.

The main challenge facing the company was to find a way to close off the opening without incurring high costs for additional masonry work. The solution adopted was to create two side infill panels with a PVC sheet, which would close off the extra space without requiring significant structural changes.

Using a high-speed stacking door proved to be an ideal choice for several reasons. First of all, this type of industrial door allows high-speed closure and efficient use of the area, minimising waiting times and improving overall productivity. Furthermore, the high-speed stacking door provides good thermal and acoustic insulation, protecting the pallet storage area from external weather conditions and maintaining an optimal indoor environment for the stored goods.

However, as the opening was larger than the standard dimensions of the automatic door, a way had to be found to cover the additional space effectively and efficiently. The side infill panels with a PVC curtain were chosen as an economical and versatile solution. PVC is a strong and durable material that offers good protection against external agents such as dust, dirt and moisture.

The side panels were installed with great care to ensure an airtight and secure closure of the opening. The PVC curtain was firmly fastened to the side panels, ensuring that no draughts or gaps could compromise the security and integrity of the pallet storage area.

Thanks to this innovative solution, the company was able to close the opening without resorting to costly masonry work. This brought considerable advantages in terms of costs and installation times. In addition, the use of the PVC curtain allowed greater flexibility, as the side panels can easily be removed or moved whenever wider access to the pallet storage area is required.
