The right solution, for the good of the products.
L’food industry requires great attention to food quality and safety, especially during production and processing. One of the critical processes is fruit ripening, which requires specific environmental conditions to ensure that the fruit ripens correctly and is ready for distribution. To maintain these conditions, it is often necessary to divide the rooms in which the fruit is ripened. In this case study, we will see how theinstallation of 4 high-speed doors with a stainless steel structure helped acompany increase the efficiency of the fruit ripening process and improve product quality.
Thecompany in question produces high-quality fruit for the European and global markets. The fruit ripening process takes place in a large room, which had initially been divided into three areas separated by plasterboard walls. However, these walls were not resistant to the humidity and the specific environmental conditions required for fruit ripening. This caused maintenance and hygiene problems and had a negative impact on the quality of the final product. In addition, the flow of staff and materials between the various areas was inefficient, slowing down the production process.
The company therefore decided to invest in 4 high-speed doors with a stainless steel structure, which would make it possible to divide the rooms more efficiently and hygienically. The stainless steel high-speed doors were chosen for their resistance to the specific environmental conditions required for fruit ripening and for their ease of cleaning and maintenance.
L’installation was carried out so as to guarantee an airtight seal between the different rooms, to prevent cross-contamination between the various areas. In addition, the high-speed doors were fitted with safety sensors that detect the presence of people or objects, to ensure the safety of workers and the protection of the food product.
Thanks to the installation of the stainless steel high-speed doors, the company has gained numerous advantages. Firstly, the division of the rooms has been improved, making it possible to maintain the specific environmental conditions required for fruit ripening. Secondly, maintenance and cleaning have become easier and more efficient, as the stainless steel doors are resistant to humidity and to the chemicals used for cleaning. Thirdly, the flow of staff and materials between the various areas has been improved, increasing the efficiency of the production process and reducing waiting times.
Logistical considerations
In conclusion, theinstallation of 4 high-speed doors with a stainless steel structure has provided the company with an effective solution for improving the division of rooms during the fruit ripening process, improving the quality of the final product and increasing the efficiency of the production process. The stainless steel doors were chosen for their resistance to environmental conditions and for their ease of cleaning and maintenance. The installation was carried out so as to guarantee an airtight seal between the different rooms, to prevent cross-contamination between the various areas and to ensure the safety of workers and product. The investment in replacing the plasterboard walls with the stainless steel doors proved to be a success and led to an increase in customer satisfaction and in the company’s turnover.
Furthermore, the 4 screen prints visible in the photos of this article were applied at a later stage, several years after the original installation. The curtain, which was creased in some places, was replaced with a brand-new PVC curtain, onto which the multicolour screen print featuring the company logo was applied.
